This hat has a great fit and is good looking. The waxed canvas fabric sheds water well and was very functional in rain!
Not only does that this cap adjust to fit even my small head well, it keeps your head dry during a rain shower while looking good. I’ve never tried a waxed hat before and was skeptical about how effective it might be against more than a light sprinkle, but my first time hiking in it I was caught in a heavy downpour for half the trail. I was wet elsewhere, but my head stayed dry. An added bonus is the bill is long enough to keep rain (and sun) off my glasses.
I’m totally happy with my new waxed cotton hat. I wanted a hat that was low profile and would take some rain and not get soaked.

This hat looks great but rides lower than I like, so much so that it pushes my ears down/out. It's not an unstructured cap - front 1/3 (2 panels) have backing - and does not conform completely to my melon. It's a soft(er) backing so it's not irritating. I'll be washing it in an attempt to shrink it to fit my preference.
I have a closet full of perfectly broken in, beautifully patinaed hats; two or three that I wear quite regularly. I ordered this hat, because I've been looking for a good quality wax canvas hat. Didn't quite expect this wax canvas hat to replace all my other regularly worn hats so fast. I think I have worn this hat nearly every day since it arrived. It looks great covered in rain, saw dust, and as of lately here in Montana, snow. I'll continue wearing this hat, putting it through the elements of my life and gathering a few stories in it, as it's now the best damn do-it-all hat in my closet.
