I worked at a sporting goods store in the camping department in college. One of the apparel employees showed this to me, and I found my favorite print online (Brown) .I have been fishing since I was a little girl and have a passion for it. I love this belt and wear it happily because it reminds me of what I love doing on days I can't be out tying one on.
If you want a moderately lightweight (webbing is light, buckle is a touch heavier than I expected) low profile belt for all activities--this is the belt for you.
Confession: I don't even fish! I just like the pattern of the Rainbow Trout and find its colors and pattern versatile enough for my hiking and everyday ensembles. I'm a fashion-conscious individual who feels my outfit must have a design balance. This belt fits the bill. While a black one would be more minimalist for my international travel, I sprang for a colorful medley this time. It may not match everything, but it's not so loud it's distracting.
Note: compared to the plain print webbing belts (1 1/2") by Mountain Khaki, I prefer the 1 3/8" width of the trout webbing belt. The 1/8" seems to make a significant difference to my initial impressions. My husband does like his plain color webbing belt but commented the 1 3/8" dimension is his preference as well.
Lower star rating as the original webbing belt as it is a thinner material and does not grab like the traditional webbing belt. The width and buckle are also narrower than original webbing belt. It does not grab like the traditional webbing and has a tendency to slide.
Love the trout print. Matches really well with Dublin Dog's trout collars! Note that it is cut to length.
