Let's get something out of the way... I am not abnormally sized. I do race mountain and gravel bikes, so I absolutely cannot wear skinny jeans (why is this even a thing now?) and must have "classic" fit or straight leg pants... but that isn't really the issue here.
In MOST pants and jeans; I am a 32 or 33 at most, with a 32/34 length depending on how I like them to drape over my shoes. I like my pants/jeans to sit low on the hips rather than choking my belly button, so I ordered these the first time as a 33/34 thinking they'd fit perfect and may shrink to where I'd like them... NOPE. They were TIGHT right out of the bag and immediately had to come off... no amount of dieting will get me into those pants at that size and that struck me as odd and frustrating.
So, back to MK with those and I ordered a 34/34. This is the first time I've had to order a 34 waist in over a decade. They arrive and fit like a 32/33 in all my other pants... weird, right? I wash them and dry them once, the legs draw up to a 33 length and the waist shrinks to a 33. Even more annoying its that, after the first wash; the flap over the zipper will NOT stay put and leaves my zipper exposed which, of course, grabs EVERYONE's attention to tell me my zipper is undone. Nope, it's just poor design and lack-of attention to detail on Mountain Khaki's part...
