Durable and versatile

Pros: I LOVE their versatility. I took these on a winter camping trip as well as a backpacking trip where the weather was warmer during the day. The fact that these easily transforming into shorts, but are still very functional as pants has made these some of my favorite and most versatile pants that I own. These pants fit perfectly lengthwise and around my waist (as in the kind that demands no belt), and the height that they zip-off into shorts are perfect as well. I love that they are water resistant, and they dry pretty quick when they do get a bit damp. The two main front hand pockets are at a great angle and I like how deep they are, and I love that the cargo pockets are pretty streamlined and not super baggy, as well as the fact that the zippers curve (though I don’t use them frequently, it makes it so you can fit larger things in easier). They feel durable, so I am not afraid the do things in them and I have a pretty good range of motion in them as well, which is great for hiking, backpacking and climbing, but also for the most part are breathable because of the mesh in the pockets. Cons: Being a tall and mostly skinny guy, these pants are slightly on the baggy side for me. The pocket situation is a bit strange to me for most of the pockets. The back pockets are too deep, which makes removing my wallet to pay for things a bit annoying. Though I love the concept of the extra hidden side pocket, I way to frequently put my phone or other things in my pocket and then reach into the wrong pocket to get it out, this gets pretty annoying fast when you are removing it and replacing it semi-frequently. Also, since that pocket is the same depth as the one next to it, when using both pockets, that side of you pants has a huge bulge since the pocket contents are stacked on top of eachother. Overall I think these are awesome pants and I wear them very regularly both on various adventures and casually. The durability, breathability, storage, and versatility make these pants worth their weight in gold. Yes there are several things that I wish were a bit different, especially the pocket situation, however this has not stopped me from recommending them to several people. Make those few changes to these pants and they will be the perfect pants.

As versatile as a Swiss Army Knife

These are excellent pants, ideal for an evening outdoor concert. When you are dragging in the cooler and lawn chairs at 5 PM, the sun is beating down, and temperatures are still near their daily high. This is when you zip off the legs and have them in 'shorts mode.' But when the sun dips below the surrounding mountains around 7:00 or 7:30, it's time to zip those legs back on for the warmth factor. The pockets are roomy, and have zipper security. The material is like gossamer, and doesn't wrinkle. All in all, a wardrobe staple for anyone who spends time in the changeable conditions of the Great Outdoors.
