WARNER HERITAGE JACKET

Mountain Khakis x HALLEY STEVENSONS

We are proud to introduce to you our first ever wet wax cotton jacket, The Warner Heritage Jacket. This heritage piece wears with you over time. Offering premium durability.  The Warner Heritage Jacket is an All American take on a traditional British style.  A lifetime jacket that ages with you and always has your back through it all.

We secured our raw materials from the finest manufacturers and innovators of wax cotton fabric.  Based in Dundee, Scotland with over 150 years of expertise, Halley Stevensons is a specialist in the production and supply of waxed cotton and weatherproofed fabrics. They have been innovating textiles since 1864 and received their first patent in waterproofing in 1910.   To this day the company continues to develop, manufacture and supply the most superior waterproofed materials worldwide.

The Warner Heritage Jacket is 10.2oz 100% cotton, and is fully lined with our iconic Mountain Khakis brushed flannel plaid. The plaid is a contemporary layout in traditional colors.

A detachable 3-panel hood provides full head coverage, with a ribbed interior collar for maximum comfort.

You’ll find 6 pockets: 1 mountain peak chest pocket, 1 interior chest pocket, 2 deep hand pockets which are fleece lined for warming up your hands, and 2 side entry pockets.

We’ve included zip-in compatibility for 2-in-1 layering with the Lynx which makes this jacket a true year-round companion.

The Warner is finished with premium metal trims, a leather zipper pull, and our iconic bison patch. We specifically chose to offer our program in Jackson Grey, this color is unique to the wax jacket category.

The concept of waxed cotton was originally developed in the early 15th century by sailors who began treating flax sailcloth’s with fish oils and grease to waterproof their sails. Capes were developed using scraps of these sail cloths to protect sailors from the elements when working in hard conditions, keeping them warm and dry. Waxed cotton is one of the original weatherproof performance fabrics and because of its quality and ability to last for generations, it is a sustainable alternative to waterproof synthetic materials. It’s no wonder that it has continued on as a traditional workwear staple for fisherman, ranchers, and outdoorsmen, as well as a classic fashionable piece for city dwellers.

The material is strong and reliable, while the finish gains character over time, giving it that perfect vintage look of a well-worn and worked in coat that we all desire. A unique feature of waxed cotton is the ability to add performance back into the fabric by reproofing the jacket. By re-applying wax as required, you can make a notable difference in the life of your coat.

You can rewax the jacket yourself. How often you re-wax your jackets depends on how often your jacket is worn, for regular use, it is recommended re-waxing once per year.
